![]() In any case, focus fire is just one example, maybe that's not even the case, but overall even when it seems that the player-sided AI does a bad job, even when the odds in its favor. I feel that the enemy does focus fire me, but the AI playing in my stead doesn't. ![]() than the AI that replaces you if you select auto in the tactical map. Ok, so maybe this in particular take it with a grain of salt, cause it's just my subjective perception, but It appears to me that the enemy AI is better at tactics, focus fire, etc. Yes, it took me long time to find that avatar, I am proud of it ) Sometimes it surprises me and kills a tier 3 unit from full HP in a single turn. In my experience AI is quite good at focus fire, often it gets attacked with several opprtunity attacks just to reach and kill a wounded unit in your back line. My hypothesis is that maybe the AI does an intentionally bad job to disuade you from automating, but I don't know. So what's the deal? Was it just my bad luck? Would it be better if I just simulated the battle entirely rather than have the AI control the units in the tactical map? As I said, this was my first game, and while I think the game is very intuitive, it's not like I became a tactical genius in my first round. On manual, I even managed to win some marked as "probable defeat" (which I took because I was the one being attacked). And even on those, if I replayed it, I got much better kill ratio than the AI. Every time I just loaded and did it myself because I lost pretty much every battle except the "very likely victory" ones. ![]() I only did this on battles with "Closely Matched" or better odds (always offensive sieges, though). Since I wanted to see the battle unfold cause it looks cool I selected manual combat, but then I let the AI take over using the "auto" option inside the tactical map. ![]() I wasn't sure about the outcome so I always saved right before attacking. So, I eagerly played my first few battles in manual, but then after a while I decided why not automate the process. I noticed something interesting though, and I wonder if others have noticed, especially older players. ![]() Honestly I'm very pleased with this acquisition. Ok, just finished my first random map (yes, I got it during the giveaway). ![]()
